Welsh artistry -The Conway and the Snowdon Lily – No 6 in the Timber Composite Doors series of doors that money cannot buy<\/p>\n

Some things just look as if they were made for each other and this time we admit we are bending the rules ever so slightly \u2013 the national flower of Wales is pretty much universally accepted as the daffodil but it came as a bit of a surprise to us here in the GFD HQ office when we discovered that all of the major regions of Wales have their own county Flower<\/a> and this is where we bend the rules -the flower for Caernarvonshire is the stunning Snowdon Lily and before we are inundated with your comments we know that Conway (Conwy) is now its own County Borough but if we look at the history it \u201cformerly lay in Gwynedd<\/em>\u00a0and prior to that in\u00a0<\/em>Caernarvonshire<\/a>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

We apologise to all of the Welsh people for our small indiscretion with the historical facts and for the use of English rather than Welsh spellings of towns and regions but as this classic member of the Solidor range of doors is called the Conway rather than the Conwy we cannot accept all of the blame and it was the only way we could marry this stunning combination.<\/p>\n

The Snowdon Lily is an extremely delicate Alpine plant that grows alone in the remotest of places first spotted in 1682 this resident of the Snowdonia National Park is best described as a very secretive flower see https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/wales\/nature\/sites\/species\/flora_fungi\/snowdon_lily.shtml<\/a><\/p>\n
